“What would you do if you had an extra day?”

It comes only once every four years. No, I’m not talking abut the Winter Olympics or the World Cup, or even the upcoming Summer Olympics or Presidential Election. Leap Day comes only once every four years and gives us an extra day. So why not make the most of it?


The first time I tried an obstacle course race. It was new, different & totally awesome.

Okay, technically it’s not really an extra or bonus day. It’s essentially just an other Monday with work, kids’ activities, appointments and typical start-of-the-week shenanigans. But we can still make the most of this extra day by trying something new or different.

If you’ve been wanting to start working out and need a reason, consider the “extra day” of Leap Day your motivation. Or if you’ve been wanting to try something new at the gym or push your workout harder, consider my Favorite Leg Exercises or Running Speed Interval Workout.

Another new thing to try is a new food or meal. I’ve recently revamped my Yum, Food page to include some of the best base foods to eat every day (keep in mind I’m a vegetarian – salmon, chicken, steak, all good options but you won’t find them here). Try eating at least a few of them on Leap Day or go crazy and eat them all on Leap Day – it can be done. I’ve also added some new recipes for lunch and dinner, so give one a whirl and let me know what you think.
